Outer Look
Ford’s latest Kinetic design theme embellishes the model with its premium looks. The front end is furnished with Aston-Martin inspired four-slat chromed grille; large swept-back headlights, prominent bonnet and fog lamps are other highlighting features. The side profile is equipped with doors with sufficient glass area, a pair of 14-inches, 7-spoke alloy wheels, and integrated ORVMs. The rear end is stupendously designed with silver chromed diffuser on rear bumper and large tail-lamp cluster.
Interior & Features
It derives inspiration from the Fiesta and EcoSport for its interior, though the new dashboard and extensive use of beige shade highlights distinctness. It hosts a line-up of convenient and connectivity features such as Ford’s SYNC technology and Applink entertainment system with voice commands; electric power steering with pull drift compensation, automatic climate control, MyFord Dock (on base trim), MyKey customizable driving key, etc.
Engine
It is available in two petrol engine options: a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT and a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT- and a diesel one: 1.5-litreTDCi. The 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine produces a maximum power of 88bhp at 6,300rpm and 112Nm at 4,000rpm. The other petrol unit - 1.5-litre Ti-VCT – is borrowed from the EcoSport and Fiesta facelift, churning out a maximum power of 110.4bhp at 6,300rp and 136Nm between 1,750rpm – 3,000rpm, whereas, the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine delivers a 99bhp power and 215Nm of torque. Transmission is offered through a 5-speed manual (with the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel models) and a 6-speed ‘Powershift’ automatic dual clutch (present only with the 1.5-litre petrol variants).
Mileage
A fuel economy of 25.83 kmpl is delivered by the 1498 cc Diesel - powered variant, while the Petrol variant offers a mileage of 18.16 kmpl with manual Transmission and 17 kmpl with Automatic Transmission respectively.
Performance & Handlings
The model elevates the driving experience, though the suspension is a bit stringent but helps maintaining endurance at speed ups. The aerodynamic design, light clutch and steering make the handling convenient. The 1.2-litre petrol engine ensures an impressive low-end performance, and city drivability; though it becomes a bit sluggish on highways and gets boisterous above 6,500rpm. The 1.5-litre petrol engine on the other hand is more powerful and fuel efficient than the former one resulting in a sturdy mid-range performance.
Rivalry
The Figo Aspire jockey for its position against the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent and others in the segment.
