Hyundai i10, a Hatchback is available in 10 variants in India, in the form of 8 Petrol and 2 LPG car. The car comes in 5 colors, namely, Pure White, Silky Beige, Sleek Silver, Stardust, and Wine Red. First launched in 2007, the hatchback was last updated in 2010. The i10 is the global predecessor of the new Grand i10, which was launched in 2013. However both the new and old models are on sale in India.
The new model is sportier and more extravagant than its predecessor. The front has a new theme grill, a new hexagonal front grille, aggressive headlights and a mesh-work beneath air dam. Alloys wheels are not present but the rear gets a modified rear bumper; a new tail lamp and a beep only reverse guide system.
INTERIOR & FEATURES
The automobile has superior and electric interior, plus it’s roomy and well-packed. A new brown dashboard with metal finished centre console adds to its good looks.
The automobile is available in one petrol engine - a 1.1-litre petrol engine. The 1.1-litre iRDE2 (Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine) petrol engine conveys maximum power of 68.05bhp with a peak torque of 99.04Nm. All the variants are mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
A fuel efficiency of 19.81 kmpl is given by the 1086 cc LPG model, while the Petrol variant delivers a mileage of 19.81 kmpl, respectively.
PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING
The hatch has easy drivability for limited and congested city roads, though it gets bumpy on rough roads. Engines are well engineered and serene, but gets loud above 5, 000rpm. Steering is radiant, continuous and responsive.
Though the Celerio has neat exterior styling and a wave of simplicity, it loses against the best-in-class interior and numerous features of the sporty and extravagant Hyundai i10. The i10’s iRDE2 engine is more polished and rev-supportive than the Celerio’s 1.0-litre K10 engine.
